FREE In-Hospital Tutoring

The Sickle Cell Foundation of Orange County provides FREE In-Hospital Patient Tutoring Program through our Educational Division. Our Tutors are all Volunteers, High School Honor Society Members, Bi-Lingual/Bi-Literature , dedicated and ready to serve! SCDFOC Educational Tutoring Program is overseen by Charon Simmons, who holds an Bachelor's Degree, California CBEST Credentials and Certificate of Clearance through California Teaching Commission.

Tutoring Program:

WHAT-This program is designed to help sickle cell students and other chronic ill patients to remain on top of their academics regardless of being in the hospital. Our team provides two hours of free tutoring to any patient on hematology/oncology regardless of their disability. We provide tutoring in English or Spanish. Our volunteers are provided with computers to assist with online homework and students must provide their school books. All Sickle Cell Foundation of Orange County Volunteers are Honor Society Students and their goal is to provide first-rate tutoring skills to all students.
