The President's Volunteer Service Award

The Sickle Cell Foundation of Orange County is proud to be an official  Certifying Organization of the President's Volunteer Service Award (PVSA), the Premier Volunteer Awards Program, that encourages citizens to live a life of service.

We encourage all volunteers to create an account and begin tracking service hours. With this honor comes a responsibility to our community, the nonprofit sector, and the Office of the President of the United States. The President’s Volunteer Service Award recognizes individuals, families, and groups that have achieved a certain standard – measured by the number of hours of service over a 12-month period or cumulative hours earned over the course of a lifetime. It is our duty at The Sickle Cell Foundation of Orange County to promote service and encourage others to serve and extend service-minded values. So join us by being a change in your community and in the world!

AWARD REQUIREMENTS

Volunteer service hours are not limited to those performed as part of The Sickle Cell Foundation of Orange County. In fact, service hours can be accumulated through work on a variety of projects throughout the year. The only requirement is that the necessary hours be completed within 12 months; recipients can qualify for a new PVSA each year. PLEASE NOTE: If you would like your hours to be certified for a 12-month period calendar year (January-December) please email Charon Simmons, csimmons@scdfoc.org

The Sickle Cell Foundation of Orange County is proud to join the President of the United States in recognizing the volunteers who consistently take the time to make a difference in the lives of others.
